Background History
At Intercounties Progressive Society, we’re a collective force for good, bringing together passionate Kenyans from all counties to drive positive change and empower our local communities. We champion the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), believing that community-based and faith-based organizations are the cornerstones of building a brighter future for all of Kenya.
Objectives
Promote Sustainable Development: Ensuring the prosperity of all Kenyan counties by promoting sustainable development practices in line with the SDGs.
Empower Communities: Providing them with the necessary knowledge, resources, and opportunities to create positive change in their counties.
Establish Community-based Organisations: Formation and growth of community-based organizations across all 47 counties of Kenya. These organizations serve as vehicles for addressing local challenges and driving sustainable development initiatives.
Support Faith-based Organizations: Promoting social welfare and development to create positive change.
Enable Funding Opportunities: The organization operates its own crowdfunding platform through which community-based organizations and faith-based organizations can receive funding.
Key Activities
Capacity Building: Intercounties Progressive Society provides training, workshops, and mentoring programs to enhance the capabilities of community-based organizations and faith-based organizations in areas such as value addition, project management, resource mobilization, and advocacy.
Networking and Collaboration: The organization facilitates networking opportunities for different organizations and stakeholders to share knowledge, resources, and best practices. It fosters collaboration among organizations working towards similar goals within and across counties.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Intercounties Progressive Society establishes mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the progress and impact of sustainable development initiatives carried out by community-based organizations and faith-based organizations. This ensures accountability and helps in identifying areas for improvement.
